EMQUAL is the Industry Training Organisation and Standard Setting Body for the Fire, and Search and Rescue Industry. This includes CIMS and USAR.

EMQUAL and NZFS are working together to help Volunteer Firefighters gain the New Zealand Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services (Urban Fire and Rescue Operations) Level 2.

EMQUAL will have ongoing prize draws, giving brigades the chance to win a $200 reward.

 

A draw will be made for every ten brigades with 75% of their active volunteers signed up to the programme.

EMQUAL REBRANDING

 

The Board of EMQUAL and the 17th Annual General Meeting approved a name change. From 1 May 2011 we will be known as EMQUAL Emergency Management Qualifications. The change represents the growing breadth of membership. We will retain FRSITO as our legal name.

The Just The Job TV series recently aired this segment on Volunteer Rural Fire Fighters. It features Kierin Oppatt and the team at the Lake Okareka Rural Fire Force, winners of EMQUAL's Excellence in Training Award in 2008.

WHO IS EMQUAL?

 

In Partnership with Industry, we are developing unit standards and qualifications to meet the needs of all sectors as their education and training partner.

EMQUAL is responsible for setting national standards and facilitating training and assessment for the industry as well as moderating internal and external training provision.


EMQUAL's head office is in Wellington, with Regional Advisors sited around the country, and an additional office in Paihia.

We offer on site assistance to registered EMQUAL workplaces and learners.

 

If you'd like more information on training for one of our National Certificates or Diplomas or on any training and assessment issues at your workplace, we have the resources and the expertise to help you.

 

This website provides information and resources that make involvement by Employers, Trainees, Assessors, Moderators and Training Providers simple and straight forward.
